There are quite a few Lemon Drizzle Cakes or variations of Lemon Cakes already on my blog. But I was wanting to contribute a couple of cakes to the Cake Stall at our village coffee morning. Lemon Drizzle cake always seems to be popular at events and a traybake is so easy to make. Just bung it all in the mixing bowl and away you go!

A Mary Berry traybake recipe is always a winner and they never go wrong with me. I treated myself to the Mary Berry endorsed traybake tin from Lakeland a couple of years ago and it is an absolute joy to use.

I added the sugar drizzle as normal but I felt it needed a little extra something. So I mixed up some glace icing and put it in a piping bag to drizzle some more on top of the traybake pieces. The finishing touch were some mini Lemon Jelly Slices from Lakeland.

The Lemon Drizzle Cake was yet another challenge to scratch off my #100bakesposter from Crumbs By Collette.

I must admit, I was thinking whatever made me think of making Lemon Drizzle cake as about four other people donating to the cake stall had the same idea! I brought back 4 pieces, though so my family had some to try!

Happy Baking!
Love Sam xx
